Stand strong with jb and me...
For the month of June, jb and me will be raffling off a $1,000 gift card! We will be selling; 5 tickets for $10 or an arms length for $20 (don't worry we have long arms ;) The lucky winner will be pulled on July 1st! Now you may be asking; what does all this raffle ticket sales do?
All of the money that is raised through the jb and me raffle sale will go straight to Camp Beechpoint. Beechpoint's focus is to spread the Good News to children with their summer camp! Giving opportunity for inner city kids to have a place they can view the “masterpiece” of God’s creation. Five decades have proven true, Lives are changed at Camp!
Ryann and Joey Grasman (jb's kids) are working with this camp in order to build them a brand new barn. Here is the letter from Ryann seeking help with donations...
Hi my name is Ryann.
I am a 15 year old freshman in high school and I have an extreme love for horses because they have very thoroughly affected my life. They give me confidence in everything and anything that I do. I grew up hearing of Camp Beechpoint, and every winter we had a camp horse in our barn, but I never understood exactly what this camp was that I had heard so much about. However, my family and I were able to visit this amazing camp this fall, and I learned so much about what Camp Beechpoint is and what it does for people. Camp Beechpoint is a Christian camp for inner city kids who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to go biking on dirt trails, away from cars and traffic, or to go fishing, or swimming, or play games outside, or hang out by the lake. Camp Beechpoint also gives my personal favorite of all these activities: the opportunity to go horseback riding. When I toured this camp though, my brother Joey and I soon realized that the horse facility of camp could use some work. Having a facility like this is a great idea when it comes to learning to ride, brush, and care for these horses, and all in all it gives the kids able to try these things more confidence. However, this whole facility that could impact kids lives so much is getting rundown and old. Joey and I were gifted a charitable fund of sorts last year, and have decided that the best way we could put this money to use in the next few years is to help build a brand new horse barn for these campers to explore and create a stronger bond with these horses. The bible verse my youth group chose to live by this year is 1 Timothy 4:12:
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
So I have decided to try to set an example to other people all over. I hope to show that just because I am young does not mean I can’t do this, with the help of my brother and those around me. So this is where I get to my point of this letter to you: we would like you to join us in setting an example to others all around us by donating money to help build this new barn for this incredible Christian camp.
Thank you so much for anything you can give, God Bless
Ryann and Joey
