Your position at jb and me….
Co-Owner of jb and me / daughter
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to many different things, Environmentalist, Veterinarian, I played with my stuff animals all the time, Singer, I sounded so good in the shower, but not too impressive when belting it out in the school choir but what stands out the most is how I was always doodling clothing styles on my papers, so a clothing designer was intriguing but since I couldn’t sew all that well, creating a store made more sense.
What does your typical work day look like?
One thing that can drive me crazy is its never predictable and always challenging, but I think thats also what I love about it too. I typically go thru the drive thru at Starbucks to start my day off with a Grande Dark Roast, get to the store catch up with everyone, do a scan of the floor and then the rest just happens. My days involve, merchandising, styling for photoshoots, web management, social media coverage, inventory control, and of course the financial side of things which my controller laughs at with me because I typically get the case of the yawns in that area.
Favorite part of your job?
Theres nothing I love more than to go on our buying trips with my mom. Searching for the new styles and looks for the store, walking the isles of all the fashion is inspiring, we are drawn to similar looks which is a blessing and we just have so much fun together.
Describe your personal style…
Well many of you don’t know this about me but I am a cowgirl at heart, I ride competitively with my family, so jeans and a t-shirt are my go to, but I really do have two styles, my work style always has a bit of an edge. I love layering up my jewelry and I go between my Sorel wedges or my sneakers depending on my day. I do love testing out the new trends. I am currently in love with the Jumpsuit trend!
What makes you feel confident?
My Husband, he is the sweetest! Always telling my how beautiful I am, it never gets old. The other thing that really helps me is working out. I love to work hard and push myself.
Who is your style icon?
My mom, she just puts it together so well. She has embraced aging gracefully and continues to work the trends. I just love her! She inspires me daily.
What are your beauty + wellness must-haves?
Water and lemon, I just feel so much better when I get my H2O!
Its important to me to move daily, whether I am riding my horse, biking, I love my Peleton Bike. It gives you a great workout for whatever time you have. I also love the workouts at OrangeTheory.
I wash my face morning and night and moisturize! Tip from my mama don’t forget your neck!
I love the Farmhouse Fresh Green Tea face wash and the Eminence Rosehip Triple C + E Firming Oil (from salon cheveux)
What do you do outside of jb and me?
I just love hanging out with my husband and kiddos! We all ride horses competitively and that takes a lot of our time. In the summer I LOVE to jet ski, the bigger the waves the better! I love hanging with my family and doing family trips. We are very active together.
If you had to wear one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’d have to say my A Golde jeans and a white tee, but oh that would be so hard I love changing things up!
Favorite place you’ve ever visited and why.
Rocky Mountains, my family and I hiked to a beautiful secluded mountain lake and camped overnight. The hike was strenuous but beautiful and the quiet time to take in Gods beautiful creation with my family was unforgettable!
What song would describe you best?
That’s a tough one, I don’t really have a song in particular but I would say it would be something country, but NOT Redneck Women as much as I love the song. ;-))))
Most embarrassing outfit you’ve ever worn.
I actually have two!
One was at an Atlanta Gift Show. It was my mom and I’s first time there and I was thinking, oh Atlanta, it will be warm BUT it was so cold and I packed capris and sandals, and I could hardly walk because I had such terrible blisters.
The other one, all I can say is bright royal blue leather gloves and patent royal blue shoes to match. I was walking the streets of New York with my mom and it struck me how horrendous I looked and we about peed our pants right on the street!
One piece of advice you’d give your younger self.
Don’t wish your days away. Be thankful for everyday, and give it to GOD.
