It’s hard to believe that it is November and Thanksgiving is only a week away. I am a total
Holiday junkie. I have been listening to Christmas music in my car since Halloween, and my
Thanksgiving menu is planned and ready to execute. With the countless parties, get-togethers and events that arise this time of year, it’s very possible to find yourself standing in front of your closet asking the question, “What am I going to wear?”. Lucky for you, jb and me has all of your Holiday outfit needs covered. Here’s a look at some of my favorite pieces so far…
Free People velvets, laces and sparkle – My closet resembles what I imagine a Free People
warehouse to look like. The brand has been a favorite of mine for over ten years and I am
ALWAYS amazed by their pieces each season. Holiday 2017 has not disappointed so far. The Fearless Long Sleeve Pullover was designed for me, I think. It’s swingy and light-weight and has a sparkly gold threading through it - the perfect mix of glam and casual. As soon as I put it on, I knew we had to be together. This lovely will look amazing with (Spanx) leggings or denim. It’s an easy way to add special sparkle to a casual look.
The Velour Swing Dress by Z Supply is a stand out for me. Not only is the price point great
($48.00), but the fit is an amazing A-line that hides all your trouble spots, yet gives a
streamlined illusion. Perfect with the Spanx faux leather leggings or any black legging really.
Add a great boot and a sparkly necklace and you have yourself a comfortable, classy Holiday style.
Cupcakes and Cashmere Valda Dress – This dress is another great fit. The A-line silhouette is more relaxed and looks great paired with leggings or a tight. I love the short Trefoil ankle boot by Madeline ($65.00) we paired with it for our photoshoot. The sheer sleeves of the dress offer a dressier look and the velvet detail and the tie up front are classic yet still on trend.
Sweaters in Wine - The combination of rich fabrics like chenille and velvet and deep shades of burgundy and green make styling for the Holidays feel extra luxurious. RD Style has so many great sweater options and the prices are so affordable! One of my favorite sweaters for the Holiday is the Free People (surprise, surprise) Nightingale Cardigan in Bordeaux. It adds warmth to your outfit, but also a little Holiday jazz with the deep burgundy shade. And
seriously, who doesn’t like a little wine this time of year?
Jb and Me is carrying these amazing hooded, faux fur vests and they are a shockingly good
price at $34.00. I love these because they offer extra warmth, extra length and extra style
instantly. Also, a wonderful gift idea for all your fashionable friends!
RD Lace Up Sweater $66.00 – Usually when I do a photoshoot with Jamie, I end up lusting after most of the items I’ve tried on. This lace-up sweater is definitely on my list. The billowy style slims, hides and drapes while the open neckline and fitted sleeves give shape and a hint of skin. I love it with leggings or jeans or pretty much anything, really. This is another great gift idea, but really, you should just buy this one for yourself!
If you want to add interesting to an outfit, try an over-the- knee boot. The Coconuts Moon Boot was easy to slip on and off and went with everything. It is not a bad price at $143.00. I found the style to be surprisingly slimming and the drama of an OTK boot takes an ordinary outfit and makes it extraordinary.
We have just begun the gloriousness of the Holiday season, and I, for one, cannot wait. Bring on the eggnog and the belly laughs and the friends and the family and the turkey and the sparkle and the snow. Let’s be present and mindful and thankful and filled with joy. Oh, and well dressed. Definitely well dressed.
