POP of Spring
SPRING is around the corner! I don’t know about you, but, I am definitely ready to be done with winter jackets, boots and all the extra gear that comes with cold temperatures. If you’ve had a chance to stop by jb and me, you will notice all of the Spring clothing they have in store!
Dresses, tops, sandals and accessories – perfect for your vacation or your Spring wardrobe. One thing we are noticing as we watch the new arrivals come in, are the bold colors.
Royal blues, vibrant oranges, cornflower yellows and emerald greens. For those who prefer a more muted palette – there are plenty of sherbet inspired pinks and blues that would work for you too. There are so many examples of this trend right now, I can hardly choose my top picks! I love the Jack Amina Ruffle Top in brilliant green, the Free People Love Birds Tee with its bold embroidery and the Korner Karol Dress with its rainbow appeal.
Another “pop” we see is pattern. Spring floral – whimsical and floaty and traditional patterns like polka dots and gingham. I love the Say You Love Me blouses from Free People that come with a romantic tie at the waist. The A.B.S. Polka Dot Wrap Dress is amazing with a flat slide or a stacked heel. The cupcakes and cashmere Adrienne Bomber and the Free People Ditzy Denim Jacket are two ways to pop pattern and keep warm on chilly Spring Days.
Of course, one of my most favorite parts about Spring is the eve of sandal season. JB and Me has so many wonderful options right now. In textures of velvet, suede, satin and soft leather –
there are options for casual, dressy and everything in between. The Kaanas Sausalito is an easy slide with an elegant velvet bow – great with dress pants or cut off shorts.
The Sorel Joanie is perhaps the most comfortable heel I’ve ever worn. I love the neutral color and the fact that I can run around all day in them. The OTBT Patchouli is the perfect transition shoe for Spring. Part boot, part sandal – all fashion and comfort. This is trademark OTBT. The Patchouli comes in universally pleasing camel brown and black. You MUST try them on!
For those of us who find comfort in grays and black and creams (ME), pops of color and pattern might be daunting. I was surprised myself when I found I really liked the look and feel of a more dramatic fashion choice. The truth is, winter is long in Michigan! I am ready for the brightness of a deep green blouse or a softly floral tunic. Like a warm and sunny day in April, it’s a reminder that Spring is coming. And we are definitely ready for that!!
