The holidays are approaching and we have the perfect recipe to share with you! It's a favorite mulled cider recipe straight from the Pioneer Woman's Holiday cookbook called, "A Year of Holidays". This recipe will not only make your kitchen inviting and smell of spiced cinnamon, apples and oranges, but will leave your guests asking you for a copy of Ree's yummy cider recipe.
Start out by pouring a gallon of cider into a nice large pot or dutch oven on the stove. Continue by adding your cranberries, chopped apples, allspice berries, cinnamon sticks and the peel of an entire orange... Oh and some sugar! She says in her recipe you can use brandy but we opted to leave it out so it was family friendly.
Only add the Orange peel to the cider, save the Orange for a healthy snack later on in your day:)
Finished product! Now we wait for the house to start smelling yummy. Turn the stove on and start heating the cider up (about 45 min on a low heat)
Here's the Pioneer Woman's recipe from her cookbook and the exact amounts of the ingredients you'll need to make this tasty treat!
