A fresh start,
the first breath.
The expectancy and curiosity that comes along with a new year
feels remarkably momentous as the 21st century makes the confident transition from teenager to twenty-year-old.
The fashion realm is not skipping a beat as 2020 vision boards are bursting with imagination! Freshly curated color palettes, sprightly silhouettes of denim, & embellishments of embroidery & crochet are in the trend forecast, & there’s a 100% chance these fresh takes are taking over jb and me by storm!
Before we jump into the exploration of new garment goodies and the double digit decade trends, we want to remind our unique, kind, curious, cherished customers (& ourselves, for that matter) of the truth that does not waver or shift from day-to-day even when our outfits do:
We were created before the clothes.
While we wholeheartedly, passionately, deeply believe a killer outfit is empowering & is the essential fabric-frame that showcases our innate beauty, it cannot be the single source of our confidence.
We must have the confident resolve to believe we were “knitted together in our mother’s womb” by a loving Creator who is wowed by every “fearfully & wonderfully made” hair on our head and breath in our lungs and passion in our hearts. Each & every one of us. Absolutely no exceptions. Not a single person is outside the unending love of God!
When we let ourselves receive the lavish love of our Creator and Father, then we are able to love one another well.
When we allow the Creator of the entire universe to be our guide for how we view ourselves, & then the voices of other humans (or the opinions we ASSUME they have of us) hold zero weight.
Interrupt the fears or lies running through your mind & dare to speak these facts aloud:
I am beautiful (Psalm 45:11)
I was formed with purpose & my mind is intricately made (Psalm 139:13)
I am welcomed & cared for (Ephesians 3:17-19)
Before the world was even created, God eagerly chose me & loved me (Ephesians 1:4)
From these truths about our innate value, fashion is what it’s meant to be: freeing & fun rather than another chore to “keep up with the Joneses.”
As we all embark on the journey of choosing to believe we are loved and care for ourselves with kindness, we can be proud of our unique passions and hobbies and physical beauty, and it will be reflected in how we dress.
Love to exercise or just love the freeing feel of workout wear? YOU GO GIRL! Work those Spanx and Sorel Kinetic lace ups, which provide the comfort and ease of movement your bod needs! Athleisure keeps you looking cool and feeling confident as you embark into a day with the clothes you need to enable your body to run that extra mile, or run to the store!
Are you passionate about your profession while wanting to make the most of every moment with the people you love? Check out the
Cupcakes & Cashmere Castillo Blazer in blue! After hours, pair with your go-to
Hudson Holly high rise denim & Alternative tee for a fresh twist on your workday wear.
The freedom that comes with hand-picking your own wardrobe (or letting one of our passionate stylists lead the way) enables women who shop jb and me to work well, play often, and serve others with love. When we are confident of our innate beauty and aware of the purpose in our breath & significance in our step, we are able to delight in our unique cocktail of choices, from color scheme to denim silhouette preference, favorite fabrics, and love of layering!
We love love love the women who explore our store.
Let’s all have fun in the freedom that a fresh look and renewed mindset brings!!!
Stay tuned for our upcoming Vision Board 2020 trend blurbs!
